What Is a Clipping Path?

A clipping path is a closed vector path drawn by hand around a subject in Photoshop. Everything inside stays. Everything outside is cut away. The result is a clean, isolated subject ready to be placed on any background without rough edges, halos, or leftover fringing from the original shot.

It is the most accurate method for removing a background from a product image, and it holds up at any size. Automated tools approximate. A hand-drawn path is exact. That difference matters when images are going into a professional catalog, a marketplace listing, or a print campaign where every detail is visible at full resolution.

Clipping path works best on products with hard, well-defined edges: footwear, packaged goods, electronics, jewelry, furniture, bags, and most physical product types. For subjects with fine hair, sheer fabric, or transparent elements, image masking is the right approach. We handle both and will tell you which one suits your images after we review them.

Our Clipping Path Services

We work across all complexity levels, from simple single-path products to super-complex subjects with multiple parts, fine detail, or cutout interiors. Every image gets assessed before editing begins. The path type is matched to what the image actually needs, not applied as a default setting across the batch.

Transparent Background

The subject gets cut out cleanly and delivered as a PNG or layered PSD with a fully transparent background. Drop it onto any color, scene, or template and it sits cleanly without any further work. No edge haze, no fringing, no semi-transparent pixels left over from a poor mask. The file is ready to use as delivered.

The before-and-after results below show the standard we work to across different product types. Clean cuts on hard edges, accurate paths around complex shapes, and output that is ready for use without further cleanup. What you see here is representative of what your batch will look like

Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and most major marketplaces require product images on a pure white background. We place the isolated product on a background that meets those platform specifications exactly. The white is clean, the edges sit naturally, and the output holds up at every screen size and zoom level your listing will see.

For branded content, social campaigns, and advertising work, a colored background often does more than white. Send us your hex codes or brand guidelines and we will match the background precisely. Shade, depth, and lighting around the product get adjusted so it sits in the space naturally rather than looking placed.

Product Placement Into Scenes

If you have a background image or lifestyle scene in mind, we will place the product into it and adjust the edge lighting, shading, and depth so everything reads as a single photograph. The product should look like it belongs in the scene, not like it was added afterward. This is used for advertising layouts, social content, and brand campaign visuals where a plain white background is not the right fit.
